The new NEVI funding for Ohio chargers is $51 million and it will be paired with at least another $26 million from the private sector. In total, there could be <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbc4i.com\/news\/local-news\/central-ohio-news\/ohio-awards-51-million-for-64-electric-vehicle-charging-sites-see-the-locations\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400 ,\">64 new charging sites<\/span><\/a> with<span style=\"font-weight: 400 ,\">\u00a04 charging ports a piece for a total of over 260 new chargers in Ohio.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400 ,\">If you have been following US EV public charging expansion, you know increasingly the sites of new public EV charging are mainstream retail locations, which means EVs are becoming much more accepted. They are no longer just for tree huggers, rich people, techies, etc.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400 ,\">Sheetz, Tesla, United Dairy Farmers, Aldi, Love\u2019s Travel Stops, and Pilot Travel Centers will be a portion of the Ohio EV charger site locations. In central Ohio, some of the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.yahoo.com\/news\/articles\/odot-announces-dozens-sites-ev-164935742.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400 ,\">locations are<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400 ,\">:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400 ,\">Aldi at Sawmill and Bethel roads in Columbus<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400 ,\">Aldi on U.S. 23 between state Route 161 and Morse Road in Columbus<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400 ,\">The East Market at E. Broad Street and Nelson Road in Columbus<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400 ,\">Shell at Scioto Darby and Cosgray roads in Hilliard<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400 ,\">Shell at I-270 and U.S. 62 in Grove City<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400 ,\">Love\u2019s Travel Stop at I-70 and state Route 310 in Etna<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400 ,\">Aldi at state Route 161 and Hamilton Road in Columbus<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400 ,\">Aldi at state Route 161 and U.S. 62 in New Albany<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400 ,\">Aldi at U.S. 33 and state Route 317 in Groveport<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400 ,\">Sheetz at U.S. 62 and state Route 161 in New Albany<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400 ,\">Sheetz on Johnstown Road near John Glenn International Airport in Columbus<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400 ,\">Sheetz at I-270 and U.S. 23 in Columbus<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400 ,\">Meijer at I-70 and Hilliard-Rome Road in Columbus<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400 ,\">United Dairy Farmers at Avery and Hayden Run roads in Hilliard.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400 ,\">The new chargers should be installed by the end of 2027. There will be restrooms as well as food and beverages available at the charging station sites. Try as he may, Donald Trump cannot block the expansion of public EV chargers in the US. Eliminating the federal EV incentives diminished the sales of some models, and yet EV charging infrastructure keeps growing steadily. When he is gone, EV sales might soar.
